For days like… Monday!..Repost from @theoddsheepathome – How could I forget about this beauty! Thank you for making great mugs @chasingfirestudio #3 in my collection from you. Daily reminder to myself that I no longer put up with people attempting to bring me down, false accusations or someone to dump #shit on #takeitsomewhereelse #learninghurts #checkyourfacts — FYI: art on the mug is copyrighted, yo.
We will have some DRAMA LLAMA MUGS (finally holy cow yowsers)! Also featuring oodles of buttons, and leather heels & toes for your slipper projects. Come see Jason at the booth on Saturday as we kick off fall in beautiful Lacombe! #AlbertaMakers #PrairieFibreFestival #Lacombe

Hey Calgarians! We have goodies for you at Yarn Twisters! They are at 122 Mahogany Plaza in the southeast just off 52nd St SE and we’ll be working hard to keep them stocked with bowls, mugs, and buttons. They have ONE DRAMA LLAMA mug (and lovely llama yarn), a herd of sheep mugs, some communicative mugs to express how you feel while you knit or crochet, and textured ribbed mugs. And check out the YARN BOWLS. They have a great variety, and an octopus busy being beautiful while you knit. We have sponged and sanded so that these are loving to your yarn because we love yarn as much as we love clay. Our buttons for your projects are also on-site so get your pretties there. Lisa and Michelle are very helpful and passionate about sourcing local products. You’ll see some favourites from around Calgary in their shop, and we’re dedicated to bringing them what their customers want (including octopus buttons for whoever came in and asked for those! I’m working on them, I really am) They host a knit/crochet/weave/whatever you can make night on Thursdays if you are looking for a nice place to hang out. Welcome to the neighbourhood, Yarn Twisters!
Driving home from Edmonton last night and the sunset reminded me of a colourway I fell in love with. The makers created an art book of their inspiration photos with samples of projects in each of their colourways plus swatches of each and I just thought WOW this is an intentional heightening of yarn dyeing to show the ART. And then I sat down (quite literally onto the shop floor) and paid attention. The Blue Brick’s Prairie Storm is what ended up nestled in my arms. I figure that finding such beauty in this sunset confirms that I made the right yarn choice.
Thank you @edmontonfibrefrolic ! You were wonderful hosts and we had a fabulous day. We met THEE “Monogamous Knitter”, Jay found other kilted men, and so many hilarious fibre artists stopped by for a laugh. Thanks to everyone for welcoming us and making us feel at home. I can’t wait to be back! #makersmovement #buyhandmade #EdmontonFibreFrolic
We love to make things to make projects better. These non-slip leather heels & toes are perfect to sew on to slipper projects. Knit, crochet, felted, sewn – they add the perfect finishing touch. We have them available in two colours in four sizes, from baby to large adult. I’ve tested them and this giant clutz (me) is now safe from the terror that is slippery laminate flooring! These will be in our Etsy shop starting June 1, 2018!
Simple yarn bowl looking for fibre artist. Must love yarn and spending time together. Don’t mind Netflix, TV, podcasts, or music as long as we can be close. If interested, meet me at the Edmonton Fibre Frolic at Chasing Fire Studio booth, and we can start our future together.
Fresh from the kiln! Collaboration with Shauna at Epic Fail Studio result in kintsugi beauties like this faux wood and copper yarn bowl. A new glaze technique plus Shauna: Sometimes a combination of glazes create a powerful glow, run, and altogether breath taking result: Mermaid tails? The mother of pearl is hard to capture in a photo but it’s there on the tail, shimmering a pastel rainbow. No nonsense, sturdy with no frills for those that want function first: Traditional wheel thrown bowls. Waiting in the queue are dragons, octopii, geckos, birds, and a few experiments! We will be ready to rock the Edmonton Fibre Frolic on May 26 . We’ve also started making “Heels & Toes”, our own brand of non-slip adjustable leather soles for slippers. We have branched from grey into a brown option as well. These are available in large adult, small adult, child, and toddler/baby. Remember: SAFETY IS SEXY!
