That Artsy Thing // I needed a notebook yesterday for a project. None of the piles of notebooks that I have in my Notebook Drawer were acceptable for what I Have Imagined this project to look like. In the tradition of "why spend $20 when I can spend more time and supplies to make it myself", I decided that this was the time to make my own. I mean, in this case, I had all of the supplies needed anyway because I hoard art and craft supplies. It is the best feeling to go to the art cupboard and emerge with everything needed. The first book (ONLY book before yesterday) I made was under the tutelage of @karenbikoartist at a great kid-parent art class at our community center. The amazing "we're going to need a sketchbook, so let's make one" attitude is absolutely why I spent part of yesterday making my own for this upcoming project. She has a video of a book creating technique (slightly diff than this one – I did a covered spine) on her YouTube page KarenBiko47 if you'd also like to play! It's so fun to make your own books.
